Slow Progress

I have been working on 6 Fat Men but will be taking a break for 2 weeks to vacation in Florida....a mild setback! I am also working on a small birth sampler fron my newest little nephew, Samuel Edward. Hopefully when I return I can start adding pictures and show that I do indeed stitch.
Til next time....

ZOom,zoom,zoom

OK, so where did January go?......I started out pretty strong stitching but seemed to have lapsed into slow motion. I have made some progress on my 6 Fat Men but got side tracked on a little Valentine surprise for my DD. Because I have so much going on, stitching, knitting, redecorating bedroon and powder room, shopping for clothes for vacation and doing online reservations etc., I am not able to post any pictures for now (and I do love to see the photos of everyone's fabulous work). Maybe next time....

Happy New Year 2012

Here we are on the first day of 2012 and the weather in upstate New York is unheard of at this time of year.....52 degrees and sunny this morning. The whole month of December was extraordinary with temps like Spring!
We all know this will come to an end soon.....as in Tuesday with possibility of 15 degrees........now that's more like our normal!!!!
I have put my first project of the year on scroll rods today. It is the "6 Fat Men' by Lizzie-Kate which I am doing on one piece of fabric.....my daughter, Maureen has sort of challenged me as she is doing the same piece....oh, boy, the pressure.
Until next time, Barbara

The End of 2011

I am still a newbie at adding
pictures and composing my blog but I added the last two Christmas projects I did for my grandson and my DIL. R.J. 's ornament is from Prairie Schooler #36 and because he took a trip on a Tall ship, Lynx, I thought it would be appropriate for him. The Xmas stocking is for Riley, my "grand" dog and it too was well received by my DIL who loves him to pieces.
It is New Year's Eve Day and quite hard to believe that 2011 is drawing to a close. The year has had its ups and
downs but for the most part we have enjoyed family,
friends and remain in good health for the year. May
2012 bring good health, happiness and peace to all!

Til next year, Barbara

Post Christmas

Well, Christmas 2011 was a hugh success! I was able to finish all my ornaments for my "grands" as I have for the past 16 years and this year I have loved everyone of them. The one on the left was for Madison, the middle for Caroline who loves to go shopping, and the third was Mackenzie's who traveled to England, France and Spain this past February. I also stitched an ornament for my grandson, R.J. who was able to have a short sail on a tall-ship called the Lynx. And finally, I stitched a Christmas stocking for Riley, my son and daughter-in-law's sweet little dog. They were delighted and surprise to say the least. I will add the missing photos on the next post hopefully. A couple birthdays coming up in the next few days and then it's time to dismantle all the Christmas decorations until next year.....whew!

Now we can look forward to the near year and hope everyone
has a happy, healthy 2012!
Til we meet again, Barbara

Countdown to Christmas

Well, Thanksgiving 2011 is now a memory and we had much to be thankful for.....our blessings include an awesome family, near and far, delicious food and a wonderful bonding of children and adults. We watched our traditional flick, "Christmas Vacation" and laughed ourselves sick once again. Today is leftovers and I'm sure we will savor the foods all over again.
Now we begin the countdown to one of the biggest and most anticipated holidays of the year.....hopefully many will remember what CHRISTMAS truly means!

It's All About Fall

Although it's been a while since I posted, I sure have enjoyed all the bloggers that I follow. I have stitched a few Halloween pieces that I think are fun to display. My Halloween decorations are beginning to find their places inside and out as this Fall holiday approaches.......Happy Halloween to all the little "ghosties out there"
